Looking for flights under 2 hours from UK that work with babies? You’re in the right place. These 12 baby-friendly destinations are all reachable on flights less than 2 hours from London and major UK airports, making them perfect for first trips abroad with little ones.
Travelling with a baby doesn’t have to mean stressful long-haul flights or navigating jet lag, and actually, we’d suggest you get comfortable with shorter trips before you venture too far. I’m sure that much of the ease of travel with kids comes from a place of confidence. Europe is full of scenic coastlines and architecturally stunning cities to explore – enough adventure to not need to brave a longer flight should you not want to.
And if flying isn’t something you’re keen on (although if you follow these tips, you’ll be fine!), you can also get the Eurostar to the likes of Lille, Paris, and Amsterdam or the EuroTunnel / Le Shuttle – and they are equally baby-friendly in my experience.

How to choose your 2-hour destination with a baby
For first flight with baby (under 6 months):
- Choose: Jersey, Nantes, Luxembourg, Cork
- Why: Shortest flights (1-1.5 hours), English-speaking or close to UK culture, easy airports
- Avoid: Anywhere with long airport transfers
For curious babies (6-12 months):
- Choose: Munich, Bergen, Strasbourg, Seville
- Why: Walkable cities, parks, baby-friendly culture
- Avoid: Beach-only destinations (they won’t be able to spend all day there)
For toddlers (1-3 years):
- Choose: Mallorca, Nice, Porto, Île de Ré
- Why: Beaches, pools, space to run
- Avoid: Pure city breaks (they get bored!)
12 flights under 2 hours from UK: best baby-friendly holiday destinations for short haul
1. Munich, Germany
👉 Check out best-rated Munich accommodation. We stayed at the Hotel Schlicker which has a great location and good sized rooms.
Flight time: c.1h 40m and the S-Bahn takes about 40 minutes into the city centre from the airport.
Airlines flying direct include Lufthansa, British Airways, and easyJet.
Munich blends Bavarian charm with green parks and excellent public transport. The English Garden, with its shady paths and baby-friendly beer gardens, makes a great low-key outing. It’s clean, very walkable, and has some great Bavarian food and drink to try at a fast or slow pace – ideal for new parents getting back into city travel.

2. Nantes, France
👉 Look at these favourited Nantes accommodation options. We stayed in an apartment in central Nantes.
Flight time: c.1h 05m and the airport transfer is no more than 20 minutes by taxi.
You can fly there with EasyJet and Ryanair.
Nantes often flies under the radar, but it’s a really compact and walkable city on the Loire river with an impressive arty vibe. Highlights include the huge mechanical elephant and the 20km ‘green line’ walk past the city’s art and cultural sights. You can read my review of the city, and potentially turn this into a city + beach dual break, like we did when we went onto Île de Ré.

3. Cork, Ireland
👉 Check out best-rated Cork accommodation.
Flight time: c. 1h 25m and the airport is just a 15-minute drive from the centre.
Both Aer Lingus and Ryanair fly to Cork.
Cork is Ireland’s second city and a lovely choice for a relaxed city break – and more importantly a gateway to a heap of road trip options. We enjoyed the city but made the most of our car rental and did a fabulous trip to Killarney National Park (under 90 mins away) and then onto some iconic coastal locations including Dingle and Doolin.

4. Bergen, Norway
👉 See accommodation in Bergen. We stayed in an apartment just behind Bryggen.
Flight time: c. 1h 45m and the light rail (doable with a pram) takes about 45 minutes from the airport.
Fly direct with Norwegian Airlines, and now Jet2 have started flights in 2026.
Bergen is a postcard-perfect harbour city, surrounded by fjords and fresh air. It’s small and easy to navigate (albeit some cobbles), with Bryggen’s historic wharf and the funicular to Mount Fløyen amongst the top sights. We took R for our first trip abroad and had a blast! Our full itinerary is here – just pack a rain cover – it’s famously drizzly!

5. Jersey, Channel Islands
👉 Don’t miss these hotels in Jersey. We stayed in an apartment in St. Helier and it was perfect for what we needed and close to the bus stop.
Flight time: c. 1h and the airport is under 15 minutes from most accommodation.
Fly direct with EasyJet and British Airways.
This often-overlooked destination may be close to home, but is ideal for a short, peaceful break. The island is tiny but you can expect sweeping beaches, gentle walks, and plenty of cosy cafés. We took R in October and it was such a lovely autumnal break, plus the island is so well connected by bus that you don’t need a car.

6. Strasbourg, France
👉 Take a look at accommodation in Strasbourg.
Flight time: 1h 35m and it’s around 15 minutes by tram or taxi to the city centre.
Regular flights available with EasyJet.
Strasbourg is a charming blend of French and German culture, with a fairytale old town that’s perfect for exploring at a gentle pace with a baby. The UNESCO-listed Grande Île is a maze of cobbled streets, pastel timbered houses, and the stunning Strasbourg Cathedral. Petite France, the historic riverside district, is full of scenic canals and quiet spots to relax.

7. Porto, Portugal
👉 Check out accommodation options in Porto. We stayed in the very grand Pestana Palacio do Freixo and it was a gorgeous riverfront setting with a pool.
Flight time: c. 2h and the airport metro line gets you to the centre in 25–30 minutes.
Fly there with British Airways, EasyJet, Ryanair, and TAP Portugal, plus Jet2 from Manchester.
Porto just fits the brief, but it’s worth every minute of that two-hour flight. The old town’s cobbles can be a bit of a challenge, but the riverfront is perfect for pram walks and there’s also options to get out of the city and to the nearby beach or further into the countryside (e.g. to the Port-making Douro Valley). The city’s food scene outstanding, especially the seafood around the Matosinhos port area) and there’s plenty of options for quick meals while the baby naps.

8. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
👉 Look at accommodation options in Luxembourg.
Flight time: c. 1h 20m and just 15 minutes by free bus or taxi to the city centre.
Fly with Ryanair, EasyJet, British Airways and LuxAir.
Luxembourg City is one of Europe’s most underrated capitals, as its small, scenic, and easy to explore on foot (or with a pram). There’s plenty to see: the dramatic Bock Casemates tunnels, lush parks like the Pétrusse Valley, and postcard-perfect bridges connecting the upper and lower towns. Public transport is free nationwide, making buses and trams cost-effective with little legs.
9. Nice, France
👉 See top-rated accommodation in Nice. We stayed in an apartment in Nice Old Town and found it the best area.
Flight time: c. 1h 40m and the tram from the airport takes you straight into town in about 25 minutes.
Get to Nice with British Airways, EasyJet, Ryanair, Air France – plus some seasonal flights from TUI and Jet2.
The Côte d’Azur might sound glamorous, but Nice is also a very accessible and baby-friendly destination. When you’re not enjoying the local beaches, stroll the palm-lined Promenade des Anglais with a pram, or take a slow morning in the Old Town. And after you’re done with Nice (if ever!), you’re on a train line that can have you in the likes of Monaco, Marseille, or Cannes in minutes.

10. Mallorca, Spain
👉 Take a look at accommodation options in Mallorca. We loved the Pollença area.
Flight time: 2 hours and a 15-minute drive to Palma, 40 minutes up to Alcudia on the northern side of the island.
Plenty of options with British Airways, EasyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, Wizz Air all flying there, plus some seasonal flights with TUI.
At bang on the two-hour mark, Mallorca makes up for the longer commute with many direct flights and relaxed Mediterranean vibes waiting for you. In Palma, cobbled streets meet sea views but behind the capital, you’ll find family-friendly resorts and shallow beaches perfect for little paddling feet. Renting a car is straightforward if you want to explore (and we recommend you do!). Here’s our suggested things to do and beaches.

11. Île de Ré, France
👉 Check out Île de Ré accommodation. We stayed in a gîte on the island and it was perfect for getting around with a pram.
Flight time: c. 1h 45m to La Rochelle, then around 30 minutes by car or bus across the toll bridge to the island. Fly with EasyJet and Ryanair to La Rochelle.
Île de Ré is one of those places that feels like a well-kept secret, even though it’s popular with the French in summer. Long stretches of sandy beach, flat cycle paths that are genuinely pram and bike-seat friendly, and pretty white-walled villages make it one of the most relaxed destinations we’ve visited with R. Read our full destination guide.

12. Seville, Spain
👉 Take a look at accommodation in Seville. We stayed in an apartment in the Santa Cruz neighbourhood and loved being central.
Flight time: c. 2h 20m and the airport is around 35 minutes from the city centre by taxi or bus. Fly direct with British Airways, easyJet, and Ryanair.
Seville sits just over our two-hour cut-off but earns its place on this list without question. It’s one of the most pram-friendly cities we’ve been to – wide pavements, shaded squares, and a culture that genuinely welcomes small children at all hours. The tapas scene means you can eat well in short bursts, which is exactly what you need when you’re working around nap schedules.
