Best family Airbnbs in the UK: tested stays for babies and toddlers (2026)

Last updated: April 2026. All properties personally tested.

We still remember the uncertainty of booking our first trip with our newborn. While I started researching well before I’d even given birth, I knew where we stayed would truly make or break the experience. Finding the best family Airbnbs in the UK that were genuinely set up for babies – not just claiming to be – took real time and effort. So I’m sharing everything I found during my maternity leave travels, so you don’t have to do the same legwork.

Whether you’re looking for a fun Airbnb for kids with outdoor space to run around, a baby-friendly bolthole for your first trip away, or a family Airbnb UK option that works just as well for toddlers as it does for newborns, these are the stays we’d go back to in a heartbeat.

Best baby-friendly UK Airbnbs: quick guide

1. Exploring Cotswolds gems in Kingham

Right in the heart of the Cotswolds, this beautifully decorated home in Kingham is a stylish retreat for young families. It’s walkable to Daylesford Organic farm and only a short drive to hotspots like Soho Farmhouse, Chipping Norton, and Oxford. Plus there’s a train station right on the edge of the village with direct services to London. Kingham itself is a dream for food lovers (we love eating at The Wild Rabbit) and there’s plenty more gastropubs in the vicinity. The home is fully stocked with baby gear and has an enclosed grassy garden for outdoor play.

Why this is one of the best family Airbnbs UK: The Cotswolds location means you’re surrounded by pram-friendly walks, traditional villages, and brilliant farm shops. The enclosed garden is perfect for toddlers to run around safely.

2. Chalet lodge near Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands

We spent four nights at Achemy Green, a collection of chalet-style lodges just outside Drumnadrochit on the banks of Loch Ness, and it ended up being one of our favourite family trips to date. Our three-bedroom lodge was all on one level — a genuine bonus with a toddler — with a conservatory-style sun room, a balcony with hill views, and that classic ski chalet warmth that makes you want to stay in as much as go out. A cot and high chair were available, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the sloped grass around the lodges will be brilliant for older children running around in summer.

A dark green wooden house on a hilltop with a tarmacked drive, surrounded by bare trees, yellow daffodils, and green grass under a bright blue sky with scattered clouds.

The single-storey layout means no stair gates needed and no anxiety about little ones on stairs. Drumnadrochit village is two minutes away for supplies, and the big Highland attractions (Urquhart Castle, Farm Ness, the Loch Ness Experience) are all within a short drive. It’s also a brilliant base for pram-friendly loch-shore walks.

If this specific lodge isn’t available, both Vrbo and Interhome have good options along the loch – the latter even has a local office in Drumnadrochit.

3. Farmyard safari tent near Peppa Pig World

These safari tents on Gambledown Farm are a little bit different – it’s not got brick walls for starters! Located in the New Forest, near Southampton, it’s very handy for a trip to nearby Peppa Pig World.

We admittedly went while I was pregnant but we took our two nephews who were 1 and 3 at the time and it was a memorable experience. There’s 5 safari tents to choose from, a shower and loo inside each, plus comfy furniture and beds (and a travel cot and high chair available) – but expect to use the hot water bottles if it’s chilly weather. We particularly loved the fire pit and stew that was awaiting us to cook on arrival, as well as the local meat fridge to raid in the common area. The owners also host a pizza evening on a Saturday which the kids loved.

This is very wholesome and fun accommodation for UK families looking for something different. The farm animals, outdoor space, and novelty of glamping make it a real hit with kids — and the short drive to Paultons Park was very much appreciated by the grown-ups too.

4. Luxurious cottage retreat in rural Wales

Set in the peaceful village of Llantilio Crossenny near Abergavenny, this beautifully finished cottage is part of a charming cluster of stays that includes a yurt and shepherd’s hut. Remote but close enough to amenities in Abergavenny for stress-free exploring, the apartment at Court Farm is finished to an exceptionally high standard, with plenty of baby gates too. There’s three bedrooms including a cosy bunk bed room, and a cot and high chair provided, plus a stunning roll top bath to enjoy. The patio looks out over a valley, with plans for a hot tub soon to come!

Why families love this Airbnb: The bunk bed room is a hit with kids who think they’re on an adventure, while the baby gates throughout mean you can relax knowing little ones are safe. Come to this family-friendly Airbnb if you want to slow down with good views, nice walks, and a very comfortable stay.

5. Hot tub barn stay near the Norfolk Broads

Tucked away in the peaceful Norfolk countryside near the Broads, this beautifully converted barn is a fantastic option for young families. With two bedrooms including a twin and a cosy open-plan living area, Bengate Barn Cottage is practical and full of rustic charm. The enclosed garden is perfect for kids and dogs alike, and there’s a hot tub for grown-up relaxation once the little ones are in bed. With a cot, high chair and baby bath available (plus a larger bath) it was the perfect place for one of our early trips with baby R.

Why it’s great for families with babies and toddlers:

The enclosed garden gives toddlers safe space to explore, while the twin room works brilliantly if you’re bringing grandparents or have an older child. The hot tub is a real treat once everyone’s in bed.

You’re also close to Horsey for seal-spotting and near lots of sandy beaches and market towns to explore, rain or shine. We really liked Happisburgh beach, a short drive away, and had some scrumptious seafood on Brancaster Straithe.

6. Relaxed family base in Braunton, Devon

This three-bedroom home in the village of Braunton puts you within easy reach of North Devon’s most iconic beaches: Woolacombe, Saunton, and Croyde. It’s ideal for beach days (whether you surf or not) and pub dinners, many of which are within walking distance. The house is not overly high spec, but it’s spacious, clean, and incredibly well-located for the price. There’s a cosy twin room for older kids, a cot for baby, and a proper bath (perfect for bedtime routines). There’s free parking for one and the small garden is enough for a bit of fresh air without any worry.

Perfect family Airbnb UK base for: Beach-loving families. Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are some of the best family beaches in the UK, with shallow waters perfect for toddlers paddling.

Location is everything here, with Braunton being a great base. When you’ve had your fix of beaches, the spa at the Saunton Sands hotel is divine, and there’s plenty of food options with views around like Biffin’s surf-inspired street food or Sri Lankan at Down End in Croyde, or curry at Barricane Beach in Woolacombe.

7. Family-sized home in South London’s Poet’s Corner

Located in the charming and leafy Poet’s Corner near Brixton, this spacious and homely three-bedroom townhouse is perfect for families wanting to explore London like a local. With a large and colourful open-plan living and dining area, it’s just as lovely to stay in with a takeaway as it is to head out to nearby eateries in Brixton or Herne Hill. The home is well-equipped for a relaxing stay with your children in the city, while being close to parks and transport hubs.

Best for: City-loving families who want to experience London beyond the tourist hotels. There’s plenty of space for kids to play, and the location means you’re near Brockwell Park and Brixton Market.

The open-plan ground floor is ideal for infants on the move, and there’s plenty of space to unwind after a day of exploring. Bonus: The Lamb Inn, Wartling – best UK Airbnb for larger families

While we’re in the south of England, I also wanted to share a bonus Airbnb that’s a stones throw from number 8 across the border into East Sussex. This converted village pub is ideal for larger family groups (think grandparents, cousins, and all). There are 8 bedrooms and loads of space, including a huge chef’s kitchen, a proper pub bar, games room, and pub garden. There’s plenty of space for travel cots, a family-style dining setup, and multiple quiet and cosy corners.

Perfect for: Extended family gatherings or group trips. The games room keeps older kids entertained while babies nap, and the multiple living spaces mean everyone has their own retreat. It was a real novelty staying here as well as being family-friendly.
